Parish life
is now well and truly back into full swing. On 10th September I
attended the Rebuilt Conference in Maynooth Fr
Michael White and Tom Corcoran authors of Rebuilt:
Awakening the Faithful, Reaching the Lost, and Making Church
Matterwill address the conference along with
God bless, William.
WEDDING
The
marriage of Francis and Esther Ohega was blessed on Saturday 6th
September. We wish Francis and Esther best wishes for their future together.
MOTHER’S UNION
/ FAMILIES FIRST
……………………Around the world and around the corner……………….
Our Opening Service for 2014-2015 was held Monday 8th September at 8pm. Many
thanks to Rev Avril Bennett who preached.This was followed by supper and chat
in the Old School Hall, when our Programme for the coming year was
revealed.
The Festival Service in Christ Church Cathedral on Tuesday
9th September was well supported by our members.
We will continue to support our project SAOIRSE during the
coming year. For October Saoirse would like toilet rolls, can I ask you to
bring your donation along and hand to me at the Harvest Festival on Sunday 5th October. Can we
ask all to provide something for harvest tea following the service.
Whitchurch MU have an Open Meeting to which we are invited on
Tuesday 14th October at
8pm when Graham Jones will speak on the Solas Project, a charity working with
socially and educationally disadvantaged young people in the inner city. Members
and non members welcome.
On Friday October 24th we had planned to attend
The Rebecca Storm Concert at Civic Theatre, Tallaght. However, this show is
heavily booked and we would be unable to get seats for all who wish to go. We
have therefore decided to go on Saturday
18th October to St
Teresa’s Church Clarendon Street
Flower Festival – meeting at the
church gates at 10am to travel into the city together. Please add your name and mobile to the list in the porch if you
wish to join us.

November. Open Night & Quiz in aid
of Church Boiler replacement. 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Parishioners…please put this
date in your diary and plan to come and support this fund raising event – you
will be guaranteed an excellent supper!
Thursday 20th November – 7.30pm Stillorgan Parish
Centre. Diocesan Council Meeting..all branch members invited to hear the latest
news in D & G Dioceses. where there will be as usual a stall, marketing
cards, calanders, etc.
Finally, thank you to those who have paid their annual
subscription of €25 to Pam our Treasurer on opening night and a gentle reminder
to those who didn’t.
CROSSROADS
Crossroads is a Church of Ireland Social Club for those in their
20’s & 30’s and a little older….
We meet on the last Friday of the
month in Buswells Hotel, Molesworth
Street, Dublin. For

PARISH COFFEE MORNING
It feels like
the summer is ending too soon. Our Coffee Morning reunions begin again on
Friday morning the 26th September at 10.30am. We hope everyone has had a
lovely summer break and we look forward to seeing all our regulars again and maybe
some new faces. Join us for a cuppa and a chat. Vivienne, Regina and Barbara.
