FROM THE RECTOR
On the 29th January we had a visit from the students of Mount Seskin Community School (formerly Jobstown) who are studying religion as a Junior Certificate exam subject. I showed them around St. Maelruian’s and spoke to them both on my role here in Tallaght and as Canon of Christchurch Cathedral where I also brought them for a visit.

On 12th February I was delighted to attend the installation of Rev. Stephen Neill (Archbishop John Neill’s son) in Celbridge which is also grouped with Newcastle, our neighbouring congregation. We send our best wishes to Stephen as he takes up his new parish.

We started the Alpha course ‘7 Churches together’ exploring the meaning of life (with breakfast) on Wednesday 28th January in An Solas Methodist Church in Jobstown. This course will run until 1st April, on Wednesdays, at 9.00am. It has been interesting and is well attended. If you would like anymore information please contact me on 086 803 0239.
Churches together includes: Bethel Community Church, Kiltalown, Jobstown.  Church of Ireland, Tallaght Village.  Tallaght Family Church. Elim, Brookfield.  An Solas Tallaght Methodist Church.  R.C.C.O.G. Joseph’s Palace Dublin. Roman Catholic Church, St. Thomas the Apostle parish, Jobstown.

We had our Ash Wednesday service and will continue to have a Lenten Holy Communion service on each Wednesday of Lent at 10.00am. Following the Lenten service we have been running the Church of Ireland Lenten bible course ‘Same Sex Issues and the Bible’ which has been also well attended and has opened up some interesting discussion.

We look forward to Easter and to a service each night of Holy Week.

God Bless                                                                                                                                                              William
