November 2013
FROM
THE RECTOR We
were delighted to welcome our former student reader David Bowles to preach at
our Harvest Service on 4th October (David was ordained less that a
fortnight previously). Thank you to the ladies who decorated the church for
harvest especially since they had just had the flower festival the week
beforehand. Thank you also to the ladies for providing the supper after the
service.
On 19th we hosted a concert by
the Tallaght Song Writing Collective. It was a lovely evening primarily
featuring guitarists but also a ukulele band as well. One of the members, Tony
Barden, sang a song he composed himself based on Corinthians 13 which was
particularly moving.
On 9th October , I along with The
Papal Nuncio to Ireland,
Charles Brown attended the launch of the 1st years ‘Buddy’ system in
Mount Seskin
Community School
(formerly Jobstown
Community School).
Rev Brown related very well with the children and they enjoyed his visit to the
school.
We are looking forward to our Christmas
Sing Along on Friday 29th November, it is always a lovely evening
and a great way to get into the festive spirit.
God bless William
BAPTISM On Sunday 27th
October we had the baptism of Senan Joseph McHugh, baby son of Seamus and
